Weyerbacher

Wayerbacher – Easton, PA

www.weyerbacher.com

This is the only place that makes a beer so delicious that comes in a close second to tasting as good as Fat Dog – or candy.  Heresy (or as Lyssa  likes to call it – ‘candy bar beer’) is their Stout aged in a Maker’s Mark barrel.  Lyssa actually didn’t care for their un-barrel-aged stout but I think I saw her sneak away for a private moment with the Heresy.  the location itself is almost just a garage with a bar in it, and its one of the places that  just does tours and tastings on Saturdays.  People line up at the door to get in and when it finally opens its a little chaotic – be prepared to fight your way to the bar.  They had at least 5 people behind the bar but that didn’t seem to be enough for all the people there but once the tour started it was better since most of the people cleared out.  We got a growler with Slam Dunkle since they were not offering the growler with Heresy – so we had to buy a case of it later.  the location is odd, the tasting is weird but the beer is good!  We also ended up buying one of the barrels that the Heresy is aged in for a decoration in our basement – very cool.  Lyssa forced me into giving Weyerbacher an extra GizMog just for the candy bar beer!
