Update January 2012:  One of our readers has been complaining about our review of this place.  We have not been back but have to admit we both like the Winter Warmer.  This has prompted us to at least go back and give it another shot.  If we can get a good seat and bartenders are as good as the Winter Warmer…..you might see an increase.  For now, they are only getting a thumbs up on the Winter.  Give it a shot before it is gone!

One of the more known places in our immediate area, but not somewhere we go that often.  The location is in the city, has a small parking lot (Jason does not like parking in tight spaces or on city streets) and a small bar.  The times we have been there it has been pretty crowded, so its tough to find a seat in the bar area, yet alone at the bar.  the staff was pretty good about helping us find a spot the second time we were there, so that helped a bit.  Lyssa likes the beer more than I do I think, but overall its not bad.  In my opinion, there isn’t a lot that comes to mind when i think of the beer so….whats that tell ya?  Never had any food here so we cant comment from that angle. 

It is somewhat of a must-do in Lancaster so, stop in if you must.  It is actually a unique old building, and if you time it right at an off hour, it would be pretty good to spend some time with the beers and take in the atmosphere – Maybe Lyssa can provide some recommendations – I don’t remember any of them. :)

    Talk about the 2 1/2 cat heads….WTF….Really?? You give rock bottom 3 1/2. Golden Av….3 heads? LBC has the best pils in the area hands down. Their Milk Stoudt rivals Fat Dog….said it. Lager better than Stoudts. 2 1/2???

      Dick, we are so happy to see your increased activity on the website – your knowledge and opinion is truly appreciated!

      You have to remember that we are not only rating the beer – we rate the entire experience which includes the beer, bar (and other areas), service, etc. We beat up LBC a bit due to shitty parking and a small/tight bar and bar table area. In light of your comments and our new liking of their Winter Warmer, we are moving things to 3 GizMogs, but it will be hard to move it much above from there.

      Thanks again for the input – our readers comments are always appreciated an in some cases may prompt us to alter our opinion!
