McNellie’s Public House – Oklahoma City, OK
I was introduced to McNellie’s by my co-worker Anthony, who also appears to be the mayor of OKC. It is just on the edge of downtown OKC – a cool building (3 floors) in a restaurant filled area. This has become a staple of weekly business travels to OK – affectionately know as “Burger Night”. $3.00 burgers get you in the door, and $50 in beer gets you out.
The real gems of the place is 2 fold. First, a great beer selection is obvious. I would think somewhere around 70 taps is followed up by another 150 or so in bottles. A great beer menu allows you to explore your options. The second and most important features of the bar are the bartenders. Rachel and Diane are awesome! They always remember all of our group and appear happy to see us……I assume it must be an act! Both are very knowledgeable, attentive and sweet as can be. This place can get packed and they handle it amazingly well.
If you are ever in OKC – do yourself a favor and stop by McNellie’s- have some great beer, throw some darts on the second level and say hi to Rachel and Diane!
